The Department of Rostec at Sevastopol State University Will be Engaged in the Development of 5G
The State Corporation ‘Rostec’ and Sevastopol State University signed a cooperation agreement at the plenary session of the forum ‘Intelligence of Machines and Mechanisms’. We are talking about training specialists in the creation of 5G communication networks within the framework of the Department of Innovative Telecommunication Technologies and the master's program ‘Innovative Telecommunication Technologies 5G / 6G’. The agreement was signed by the Director of the Corporation for Special Assignments, Vasily Brovko, and the Rector of Sevastopol State University, Vladimir Nechaev, in the presence of the Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev.
“Rostec Corporation made a decision to create a special department for the development of 5G technologies at Sevastopol State University. The department has already been practically created, the admission control figures for the next academic year have been made and Rostec has held a contest in Sevastopol for the selection of the best students, and is creating the appropriate infrastructure and software at the university”, said Mikhail Razvozhaev.
Twenty-six students who will study in the first year of the department have already been selected based on the results of the Russian National Contest.
“We launched the Department of Communications and with Sevastopol State University held a Russian National Contest, where out of 750 people, 26 were selected for the Master's programme and they will study according to the programme with our scholarship support. We will create all the material and technical conditions for students to study right away”, said Vasily Brovko.
The rector of Sevastopol State Univerrsity believes that Sevastopol is the best place to gather high-tech industry, a comfortable urban environment and quality education in a certain area.
“The development of artificial intelligence is possible if it is supported by natural intelligence. For the industry to take off, you need not only money, not only technical solutions, but people who will come to this industry and who will develop it. First of all, we are talking about future specialists, about students. The formats of interaction between industrial partners, the university and the city are important here”, stressed Vladimir Nechaev.
